Our prior domicile was a drafty big house with 10 ft ceilings, except for the rooms where they were vaulted to 18 feet.Summertime electric bills around $800 were the norm, not the exception, and Jaunuary/February bills could easily top $1000. Could not wait to get out of that place.

Yay! I'm back! We are so overwhelmed with work that we all forgot what we wanted to talk about at our 2:00 meeting (true story)

Not sure if I ever shared this tale with this crowd, but Tori Amos's sister was my medical doctor for a brief period. Unfortunately, she would spend more time talking about her famous sister than she did on my never very good test results so I fired her as my doc. Apparently I wasn't the only person annoyed because she closed up shop a couple months later and subsequently moved out of state a couple years after that

Mary: She didn't seem all that interested. My test results were indicative of prostate cancer but the visit to go over my results began with a statement about Tori's midwestern tour or something like that. I was out the door at that point. Last I saw, her old office space was being used as a boarding kennel or something like that.
@KFHP not even a complimentary CD... The real irony is that I'm not really a Tori Amos fan. Now if it was Angel Olson, different story altogether.

The book by Nancy Spungen's sister has a part where the sister, who just started college, i think, goes to a class and the teacher reads the attendance and says something like "Judy Spungen, no relation to that trash Nancy, of course..." and sister bursts into tears.

So there's a part in the book where I think Nancy gets her earlobe torn off or something. I am a squeamish person, and when I read the part where she cut the stiches out herself, I actually fainted on the subway platform, heh. Not a great moment but a story for later telling, I guess.

If someone could have a visceral reaction to your account of it - maybe we could keep this going like a tradition...
