The first time I heard pedal steel used in Nez's songs I was thrilled at his innovation -- I'd only ever heard it in Hawaiian music, but Red Rhode's was incredible and it shows how brilliant a musician/songwriter Nez was to give free rein to other musicians to take his music to other places and spaces. Cosmic collaborations!

I didn't know the meaning of this song till we did the Hits tour - it was wonderful to learn the back story - I think his mom gave him the concept that thought was our greatest gift. He spent most of his life in contemplation as a result.

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for this amazing show. I got goosebumps hearing the different mixes! I thought I heard everything. You're amazing with your stack of rarities goodies.
It's always amazing to hear something new of Michael's.
I'm glad I got to see Papa Nes with the Monkees in 2012 and solo the following year. Did the meet and greet and we talked about our disdain for the 2005 film version of Hitch-hiker's guide. Very down to earth guy. He will always be my hero.
Thank you once again for this loving tribute, the fantastic book, the bluray and the box sets!
