They were invitations to view the darkness, as, I suppose, were his shows. Often unsettling, but never let me turn away. A great DJ and human.

The book 'The Monster Show: A Social History of Horror' by David J. Skal really made explicit for me how Horror imagery reflects what is repressed in the social psyche @ given times. I come back to that despite myself - that is, despite being pretty sensitive & suggestible, in fact.

Not wanting to show how judgmental I really am, I accepted. Now of course, you go see a cover band to hear the hits and sing along. And I remember the hits, they were from the first two album before they went blah…But song after song I didn’t know, and my friend, now in his late 20s sang them all. Where was the good stuff? They played one or two towards the end. My friend was like, oh man you get into the old school stuff huh?? I’m like, No! That’s the Foo Fighters!

The book 'The Monster Show: A Social History of Horror' by David J. Skal really made explicit for me how Horror imagery reflects what is repressed in the social psyche @ given times. I come back to that despite myself - that is, despite being pretty sensitive & suggestible, in fact.

And I remember the hits, they were from the first two album before they went blah…But song after song I didn’t know, and my friend, now in his late 20s sang them all. Where was the good stuff?
