Charles Mingus said jazz was a word invented to separate musicians from their money. Music for a Free World brings us together, drawing listeners to the healing power of smooth free jazz. Each week, surprise guests bring their own sides to spin and their instruments of choice to spontaneously jam.

Canadian Football's pyramid has grown just in the last four years. Outside of the three MLS teams, there is now a thriving Canadian Premier League (level II) and League 1 Canada (level III, divided into BC, OT, QC, and this year, a new AB division)

Willens has a number of recordings on cpo, a very respectable classical music label, particularly for early music.

Willens has worked with David Starobin, the superb guitarist who runs Bridge Records; Peter Schickele (aka PDQ Bach); and Keith Jarrett (on a disc of Lou Harrison works).

totally off topic. WFMU used to have a Lowrey organ on property (Monty Hall). Anyone know if it's still there (probably the wrong audience, heard one in a live recording in the archives last night)
