There is one bit of Music I heard in my young & callow years - used as background music to a scene of somebody having an unpleasant time on psychedelics on some PBS sort of thing on Psychology that haunted me then & for decades
...little did I know for all that time it was 'Electric Banana'
...but when I read PrettyThings made some money for soundtracks in that disguise, my compuslive haunting of (& even fruitless employment in) Used CD emporiums had me sniffing the still piquant trail...

WM:

Maxwell's Demon - essential to understanding CL49: Maxwell's demon is a thought experiment that would hypothetically violate the second law of thermodynamics. It was proposed by the physicist James Clerk Maxwell in 1867.... In the thought experiment, a demon controls a small massless door between two chambers of gas. As individual gas molecules (or atoms) approach the door, the demon quickly opens and closes the door to allow only fast-moving molecules to pass through in one direction, and only slow-moving molecules to pass through in the other. Because the kinetic temperature of a gas depends on the velocities of its constituent molecules, the demon's actions cause one chamber to warm up and the other to cool down. This would decrease the total entropy of the system, without applying any work, thereby violating the second law of thermodynamics. Wikipedia.

No - TheWho were what Antonioni originally wanted to represent The Scene - but the yARdbiRdS' manager (Gomelsky) elbowed his way in & made a better offer ! So Beck had to Smash a cheap gittar to order ...but the idea that the PrettyThings would've fit the role is a natural & insightful notion. As Viv Prince for instance sat in for Moon a small handful of times as necessary... Sometimes describe PrettyThings as somewhere twixt the Stones & Who ...or as the nearest analog to U.S. Garage in Britain (in all the best & greatest respects...) There's also the Downliner's Sect - but we digress ...& over some serious celebrated Narratives...
