Virtual unknown Zachary Golub Rosen was an incredibly gifted musician and songwriter who wrote catchy, playfully poignant tunes. Rosen also suffered with schizophrenia and the effects of medications meant to treat it, dying by suicide in 2019 at the age of 30. Despite his illness, Zack and his longtime friend Connor Grant (aka Tongues Unknown) had been working on an album together. Grant, a guitarist with Sean Ono Lennon's GOASTT, helped complete the album with Zack's bedroom recordings, using stunning arrangements and guest musicians. Rosen's posthumously released debut, 'SYZYGY,' is out now on Lennon's label Chimera Music, and profits will be donated to several non-profit mental-health organizations. Connor's Tongues Unknown will play Zack Rosen's songs live on Irene's show in advance of a record release show at Rockwood Music Hall May 5th.
