De weeribben is more to the north of holland. There are only a few areas left called "hoogveen" (high bogland) where you can walk over moss and gras floating on the water beneath it. Most is "laagveen" (low logland) which is nice but not filled with plants like sundew and birds. Lots of trees in boglands are beaches (berken in dutch), the drink a lot fall down in the fenns and over the years become pete. My last name is Berkers, i guess it comes from the area but im not sure.
