Hmm, I don't think I've ever had it on hand! But these sound pretty good:

Nordic Summer, combine 2 ounces of aquavit with 1 ounce of Aperol and 1 ounce of fresh lime juice, shaken, up, orange garnish.

Akvavit Negroni:

1 oz aquavit
1 oz Campari
1 oz Lillet Blanc
Stirred, strained, up, grapefruit or orange garnish.

Another variation: equal parts akvavit, Aperol, sweet vermouth.

Or equal parts akvavit, gin, lemon with a dash of bitters.

Some more ambitious ones here: imbibemagazine.com...

i couldn't appreciate free jazz for years. an album given me by a friend, David S.Ware, sat around for a few years, played 2-3 times and not enjoyed.
then one day, i just wanted to hear it...
and it was a huge revelation! it was perfect, and cathartic; and i easily understood how David's playing was an extension of his soul, a communication from the gut...
which i'd felt about Jimi Hendrix for decades already but finally clicked for this.

I do think Psychedelic Rawk was a magnificent starting point for access to Jazz, Avant-garde, Experimental, International Musics, Classical - what have you !
What challenges should Jazz present after Jimi Hendrix ? If, like me, that happened to be your starting point (in my case via an older sibling).
As for FreeJazz - I always note that if you're not using those traditional structures - you gotta think of something quick ! & - you have to do it Together. It's simply a different set of skills.
I also entertain the notion that a lot of Free Artists have had their original backgrounds in Roots Musics ...which makes me suspect that 'Free' is perhaps more 'Traditional' after all - in its own manner...

Made it very hard to turn her from Little Miss Hiss, to the cat she is today. Turns out all she really wants is attention and love. We have feeding rituals, questions like do you want your dinner, same every time, and she loves us talking to her. Quivers her tail, mrrps, the whole thing. And then she ignores what's put in front of her. Eventually she eats it, but it's just to live, not for pleasure. My little weirdo.

awww she sounds adorable 😻😻

thank you for adopting her!!!

the first kitty in my family (i was about 6) was somewhat similar -- but quite the "fussbudget" (again -- Mom) -- would not eat the same thing two days in a row, and would nibble at his food in "shifts"

I'm not one to be over crediting cats, I've owned some that were very limited in brain power. This one, super smart. She knows the phrases for things we do together, and even when I'm too tired to do it in the cutest voice, she gets it. She is however, also terrified of mosquitos.

They are not like Dogs, once they understand that no one is takeing their food away, they don't worry about it and eat when they feel like it

seeing as your cat was already literate, it's only a matter of time before the feline revolution ensues! mandatory boxes to be placed in public properties, catnip gardens for all. (thankfully, they haven't developed opposable digits, so they still have a use for us humans...)

Cheers Fabio, enjoyed the music very much. Will continue to do so during cocktail hour. Cheers all, I'm ridiculously happy to chat cats, like the obsessed cat lover I am. However also loving all the dog friends getting through their surgeries. Have a great night WFMU folks.
