We've had the convo periodically in FMU Chats about relative merits of Lynch flix. My understanding is (became...) that Lynch intended Mulholland for TV - but, this didn't pan out. So - he repurposed all he had for Cinema. That the film has a major twist on itself in perspective is one thing I appreciate about it... Others say he covered similar themes more completely (I admittedly haven't seen 'Wild @ Heart'...)

We've had the convo periodically in FMU Chats about relative merits of Lynch flix. My understanding is (became...) that Lynch intended Mulholland for TV - but, this didn't pan out. So - he repurposed all he had for Cinema. That the film has a major twist on itself in perspective is one thing I appreciate about it... Others say he covered similar themes more completely (I admittedly haven't seen 'Wild @ Heart'...)
