Hey mariano!
That (rhythm, and bass) part of "Leningrad Xpress" does bear some resemblance to a slower Simpsons theme, like the alternate arrangement closing credits. Like the intro rhythm, and the "reprise" of the intro chords in the middle before heading towards the coda.
(Apply my musical terminology figuratively, not literally. I mostly learned music theory pieced together from the back of sugar packets.)

...I mean - if the Schedule could be completely Personalized & A La Carte ...I imagine a TimeSlot Grid one could just drag & drop - with AI Program Alerts - the whole mess... Archives are a step toward this. Of course - it's more than just Listening - it's taxing the Servers Live & taking up too much Oxygen in Community Comments & so on...

Of course the live community is a big part of listening together, separately. One could engineer a custom schedule based on Archives and preferences, but then it would lose the living-ness of these programs, "artificial" indeed. An Archive is invaluable in preserving all this, forever and for free and for everyone!! But even the best Archive is a snapshot - a CD and liner notes with fun comments. But, a snapshot.

I hate both as well - yet doesn't mean I won't be doing it!

As it turns out I do schedule jobs/assignments to other workers at my job. It's tricky, and requires a big personal component to it - knowing people personally, how they do things and how they've done things in the past. *Who* can do *which* of these assignments, and can they do it by *time*? I treat it like an integrated system, it needs all components to keep going.

It's always around new schedule time when I think about how time zones are a massive determinant of what WFMU "is" to different listeners -- how the Euro and Brit listeners are paying a lot more attention to the 3 AM - 6 AM slots than I ever do and how those shows and Clay define their WFMU days to a great extent. This is so true. For the 10 years I was in UAE I listened live to shows that hadn't really been in my rotation before. And the shows I really loved that played in the middle of the night I had to pick up on archives. And I engaged less on the boards. It's been really nice to be back with some favorites. Wake started while I was gone (used to be Dusty!) and I only occasionally dropped in when it came on in afternoons in UAE but now it's a daily fix.

The thing about WZRD is that none of the DJs identify themselves by name. They are all just "The Wizard". At least, that's how it used to be, I havent' listened in a while.

I have imagined a Daily Schedule grid : for each Day of the Week showing what's on when - Times down & Streams across
...if by some chance one has the hermetic Knowledge of Where to Find a Schedule (or most any Feature) in the first instance...

Wouldn't mind an FMU Program with AltCountry in its purview ...but there's Radio Americana if I found time for it I suppose...

↳ Song: "Gallant Poacher" by "Albion Country Band"
Ah, the Albion Country Band sounds like a good lineup. Ashley Hutchings, Martin Carthy, Sue Harris, John Kirkpatrick, Simon Nicol and Roger Swallow on this album. Other members evidently played on Hutchings' "Morris On" project.

IAN Matthews' Southern Comfort - a perfect segue, of course!

Yeah, Clincher ended up doing a Medium article not too long ago about the whole "alt country" scene and got in contact with a couple of them so he may have gotten their names from that but I'm also pretty sure these two had very clever monikers but alas, the fun I've had from the late 70's through last night have helped to clear the cache that was formerly short-term memory. =)
Have a great night all. Quittting time here and time for the commute and a train drink to celebrate. Cheers!
