Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from September 22, 2023 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

The only time I ever got in a fist fight with anybody was when two of my buddies and I were 12. We would hang out just about every day. Then for some reason I don't remember, we fought. I'm always astounded by these veteran International acts that somehow sell out concerts in the US (NYC in particular) despite never having a single song chart here. Johnny Hallyday did two sold out shows at the Beacon Theater and this Russian Hard Rock Band named Time Machine filled up The Town Hall earlier this year. The audience is probably filled with lots of expatriates.
