Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

I think the quartet used to rehearse there. There was a CBS TV special filmed at his place and the classic quartet line up was featured. It shows them rehearsing on the porch of a huge house somewhere in a remote area.

The Brubeck house is a classic Case Study mcm bit of architecture, by Beverly Thorne. His work is scattered throughout Oakland and Berkeley and worth seeking out if yr into mid century design. An original is really hard to get. I found mine at an antique shop in central Illinois for five bucks! There were some reissues of it done after the original record company went belly up but the originals are hard to find and pricey when you do find them!

I have a German pressing on Decca. The US Rare Earth is on really cheap vinyl and is pretty noisy. The German is SO much better.
