	9:29pm Dean: Generally, I do not like music videos, which are so gratuitous and pointless and disengaged from the music. "Sledgehammer" rightly deserves its position in the Pantheon. It's a brilliant achievement.
	9:30pm Dean: As a work of visual art, I mean. Gabriel never quite mastered thespianism, but that video stands to represent the times in which I lived.

	10:17pm erik-O-vert: ↳ ultradamno @9:10 re post vintage 1970s Wire, I was so thrown by the new transitional sound of Wire 2.0 i wasn’t satisfied until years later as I kept plugging away with each new album. I believe, my ears finally adjusted to their inevitable changes. So it all sounds pretty darn ok by nowadays standards. Still, Nuttin beats-out ‘pink flag’ & ‘chairs missing’ (my fave). Bell/Cup is a worthy spin.
	♥ 10:19pm Rich in Washington: ↳ erik-O-vert @10:17 TBH, in the pre-internet world, I had never heard early Wire (but heard their name mentioned often) but was aware of them when they did their comeback (of sorts) in the mid 80s, so didn't think 'the new Wire SUCKS' or anything.
	♥ 10:21pm Rich in Washington: So I actually like The Ideal Copy quite a bit, not being really familiar with older Wire. But I like both their earliest stuff and their 80s stuff equally well but in different ways.

	10:17pm erik-O-vert: ↳ ultradamno @9:10 re post vintage 1970s Wire, I was so thrown by the new transitional sound of Wire 2.0 i wasn’t satisfied until years later as I kept plugging away with each new album. I believe, my ears finally adjusted to their inevitable changes. So it all sounds pretty darn ok by nowadays standards. Still, Nuttin beats-out ‘pink flag’ & ‘chairs missing’ (my fave). Bell/Cup is a worthy spin.

	♥ 10:21pm Rich in Washington: So I actually like The Ideal Copy quite a bit, not being really familiar with older Wire. But I like both their earliest stuff and their 80s stuff equally well but in different ways.
