From the latest issue of Fanfare, the concluding paragraph of Ken Meltzer's review of this Q. Diotima disc:
"The Quatuor Diotima masterfully embraces the contrasting expressive and sonic worlds of the three Ligeti works. They are also fearless in the Quartets’ severe technical demands. The level of execution, both individual and ensemble, is electrifying. The recording was made in 2022 at Arsenal concert hall in Metz, France. In Metamorphosis Ligeti, listeners find themselves seated in a prime location within this 1,350-seat acoustic jewel. The combination of sonic and performance excellence could hardly be surpassed. There are sterling liner notes from Philippe Albèra as well. This is a superb release."

Yeah, new Vortex. The old venue in Stoke Newington (just up the road, where I live) was a far superior venue, but it fell victim to a dirty tricks campaign by a rapacious and unscrupulous local property developer (is there any other kind?). I was part of the 'Save the Vortex' campaign but we lost sadly. We were outgunned and playing by the Queensbury Rules still. Sigh.
