It's been happening on Double Dip as well, but I've been away for the last two. Weeks ago the Mother Ship dropped in volume, so yes the other streams sound louder. The distortion issue has been ongoing. John Allen's one show a few weeks back was horribly distorted for a good half hour.

Finally chiming-in on distortion issue: been listening since the Case&Lang&Viers track…via an iPhone 13 APP.
(no headphones, just the tinny hell that is iPhone built-ins). Still experiencing slight distortion on most tracks today. No distortion on your mic🎙️breaks at all.
Similar to last week, yet not quite as noticeable.
Ps: absolutely love this 3 hour show! Plus we get enough distortions from fellow legendary greats, such as Cat Bomb Radio & various Cassette Culture madness.
I listen despite the distortions. Perhaps because of it? 😉

I’m at my clients, and the receptionist just freaked out because of a rather enormous spider walking across the floor. I summoned all my courage and calmly stomped the disgusting thing into paste.
And now it’s time to continue driving through rural Mississippi to the next location. Hopefully no more spiders.

Hi picky picnic!

Ken and Scott are going to reset the stream encoder after my show ends, so hopefully it will make a difference. They don't seem to be able to pin down the actual cause though, so I bet next week's show will have some distortion in it as well. Gotta roll with the punches, I guess.

Hmm, good point. I will have to check the archive for last week's show. I would think it would record the distortion since it is taking what the stream broadcasts, which would be a bummer to have it in the permanent record as well.

Yeah they're kind of different as far as spiders go. No web usually, and fairly content to stay in one small territory. They actually shoot a line of web-type material just like Spider-man. I have some friends who've had one in their kitchen for about 6 months now. They've named him.

If insect/spider/etc. is on a flat surface, plunk can over its area. Slip in cardboard gently from the side. Proceed to window or door and knock the animal free.

we have black widows around our house and my son found one in his room before he moved out -- those I'm not happy to run across. It's an old house with asbestos siding and I think they were able to get through a crack and make a nest in the insulation. fascinating to learn that abt daddy long legs! Thanks for sharing. By late August-September we cohabitate with hundreds/thousands of them(mostly outside!) and watch them under the floodlights at night, doing there carnivorous eating push-up dance routines with moths and other small more vulnerable insects.
