I have a friend in Denver who works for ESPN as an audio engineer.
I also have another friend who owns a really nice recording studio in the Boulder area
I went to CRAS in AZ 98-99. IAR was my choice way back in HS in the 70's but I couldn't make it happen financially.

was just thinking about when the show probably..my daughter was born April 79..so excuse was home with her could have been 1980..show was videotaped..and was probably unannounced not covered ..I was there..contacted vvanguard about 20 years ...they did not know of that because that was in 2005..so different people..I'm sure t monk Jr was there ..would love to have videotape..he was dancing having great time..

We met at CRAS . He was a runner for Feyline Entertainment (promoter Barry Fey, Denver's biggest show promoter back then). Did his internship with QPrime Entertainment touring the world with Metallica.

I still have a postcard he sent me from a stop in Brazil.
For the crew...it's a lot of work, not so much play.
He told me how beautiful the women in Brazil were & how cheap certain substances were.

I have my own Metallica tales from way back in the 80's.
I catered shows for my brother in law back when the band was starting out on Megaforce.
I fed them & they showered at my apartment pre - their show in Port Jervis,NY which we produced. I had a photo of my then 8 year old stepson riding on James' shoulders. Lost in the divorce.

I took jazz studies with Ron miles in denver at metro state in 2006..we talked about this show at the vanguard..should have asked him to follow this up for me back then..saw Ron miles with Bill frisell in denver a couple times at dazzle..
