To be honest, I don’t want to see one more plan with a goshdarn pickleball court. Just leave it be, not everything needs to be improved, if there is space, kids figure out what to do with it.
	9:47am Regina J: It’s awful: one of the worst things to come out of this is the false narrative pushed by Fireman that the folks who are trying to preserve the park don’t care about the needs of lower-income residents. When I attended a presentation by the EPA, there were a bunch of young people there who were shouting things like “you care more about birds and fish than you do about kids!” Someone there tried to convince me that Fireman wasn’t trying to make a buck off the privatization, because he (and I quote) “does things for the community under the table all the time. You’re all just hating on him because he’s a successful businessman.” Ummmm, sure.

	9:48am bobdoesthings: Because of John Fahey I imposed a rule on one of my guitars that it may never be put in standard tuning, has to be an alternate tuning. Not that Fahey didn't play in standard but.. some of his open chord tunings inspired the decision

Right now I've got: #1: Standard but B string is tuned up to C #2: Standard but high E string is tuned down to D #3: Standard but low E string is tuned down to D #4: Both #1 and #2 at the same time So... nothing very exotic at the moment (except maybe #4), always just one or two strings off. For awhile I had my "fuck-around-with guitar" tuned entirely down a full step, plus #2 above ... but that guitar (which was a gift to me from a stranger I met in a bar the day before he was moving to Canada to live with his park ranger girlfriend, not even kidding) is an old Seagull with some truss rod issues and a hole in the face of it and it just can't hold tuning or intonation, so I'm trying to think of creative ways to dispose of it.

When I attended a presentation by the EPA, there were a bunch of young people there who were shouting things like “you care more about birds and fish than you do about kids!” Someone there tried to convince me that Fireman wasn’t trying to make a buck off the privatization, because he (and I quote) “does things for the community under the table all the time. You’re all just hating on him because he’s a successful businessman.” Ummmm, sure.
