Let no unnecessary technology go undeployed! I had to scan a QR code and type a bunch of info into my phone to get another QR code to give to the lady letting us into a friggin tattoo festival. Why not just give the lady a $20 bill FFS. For our troubles we were charged a $3 'convenience fee' per ticket.

I try to live my life a truthfully as possible. With that said, I have no qualms lying about my ability to use QR codes. "Sorry, my phone doesn't seem to be working." "Sorry, I left my phone at home". I also use "Could you help me? I don't know how to use QR codes.". The response is always "Just go ahead" or "I'll just get you a menu".

I love paper tickets and the venues are close to my house so I just walk to the box office and buy them when I can. Unforts the Bikini Kill tickets were all hoovered up by internet bandits before they could be printed. The venue is trying to reclaim some. What a shitshow.

That's great that you can walk to certain venues. But many venues don't sell paper tickets anymore. Even if you show up at the box office, they're going to make you go through Ticketbastard. I try to support independent venues when I can. But if the artist I want to see is playing at a Ticketbastard venue, I've got no choice.
