A rollicking retrospective of Reading, England-born Mike Cooper - working for 60-odd years now with guitar, lap-steel guitar, voice, and electronics, his creations as varied and colorful as the many places he has lived and worked (he now resides in Valencia, Spain). This is just the first episode.

That oceanic feeling: en.wikipedia.org...

Freud scholar Joel Whitebook connects the oceanic feeling to receptivity to music -- and "Freud's tin ear," his weird disdain for music, to his erasure of the early mother, including his own.

A Polynesian restaurant in LA, Kelbo's, was the venue of a show featuring noise musician NON. The set-up was for a beach party, with a PA playing Annette and Frankie, a Polynesian buffet, drinks with umbrellas...until the doors closed and the show hosts wedged chairs under the knobs to prevent the owners from too quickly entering to shut it down. NON played for a good twenty minutes at ear-splitting levels until his equipment broke.
