I love Robyn Hitchcock. but a great songwriter doing covers is always a letdown. He has a new book coming out called 1967 - How I Got There And Why I Never Left. I am positive it will be an excellent read. He is putting out an album of covers from that year at the same time. I heard he covers Waterloo Sunset. I am not looking forward to hearing that.
