During Stork's Carol Kaye tribute yesterday I reflected on how prog instilled in me an appreciation for virtuosity. This was during my 'teens and into young adulthood. Many decades later, I continue to appreciate the powerhouse players like Chris Squire. You know, a million notes per second, a new time signature every measure... But I have since learned about the marvel of less easily quantifiable good players like Carol Kaye, Lee Sklar...
