I love that scene from Night of the Hunter. I saw Lillian Gish in 1978 at The Orpheum Theater in L.A. They showed The Wind, a movie she did in 1928 and Dame Gish was there in the flesh!

Standing on the stage, she appeared to be a magic pixie.

You were the last comment on Wendy's show, so I couldn't tell you this: My sister and I started watching An American Family in 1971(we were soap opera fiends) when it debut. We were CRAZY about Lance Loud! Jump forward to the night before Easter 1978. My friends and I went to a show downtown L.A. featuring The Quick, The Mumps(Lance Louds band) and headlining was Arthur Lee. There was a narrow staircase leading to the stage. Kid Congo and I were sitting on the stairs talking when Lance Loud came bounding down the stairs "Who wants this beer!?" he asked. I took it from his hand and went bottoms up. Kid looked at me with a bemused expression at said "Backwash, my favorite part of a beer!"

I told him this story last night. I'm not sure he remembered, but I sure did!

had a comment for you on marty's last night about prop making made props for a play using a lot of latex casting... an ear horn which looked like it was made from an ear and intestine and a feather duster with a chickens head for a handle among many other things...they could have been used in 'poor things'
