"The Visit" from two reanimated (members of the) Micros(scopic Septet) - Joel Forrester and Phillip Johnston.

After a long hiatus, the much-loved but underappreciated Microscopic Septet has been reanimated. Cuneiform Records has just reissued all four original albums by the Microscopic Septet, which include some rare outtakes as well. Just for the occasion, they've reformed for a few rare gigs, two of which were at NYC's Joe's Pub. Founding Members Phillip Johnston and Joel Forrester dropped by for a preview of the music, and chatted with Irene about their current musical lives.

Live performance and chat with Honeycut (RV Salters: keyboards; Etienne de Rocher: bass, vocals; Bart Davenport: vocals; Tony Sevener - beats)

The soul-tronica infused band Honeycut was in town for CMJ and snagged on tape with a live performance. Frontman Bart Davenport has a few album credits under his belt in more of a pop vein, as do his Berkely-based band mates. RV (Hervé) fronts the band General Elektriks, Etienne has his own self titled pop rock gem out, and Tony's drumming & drum programming has graced many an album from the East Bay. Honeycut's debut, "The Day I Turned to Glass" is just out on the Quannum label.
