In this same spirit of celebration, the Sisterhood of The Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood, in association with Muslims in Hip Hop, is continuing this sacred legacy by presenting their first concert/fund-raiser featuring a multi-cultural sampling of the most profound Muslim Hip Hop and Spoken Word artists from across the nation,on Friday, October 26th, 2007, from 7pm - 11pm at Aaron Davis Hall at 135th St. and Convent Ave, on the campus of the City College of New York, in Harlem, NYC. Iranian-American producer/DJ K-Salaam will kick off the evening with Dancehall and Hip Hop stylings. Headliners include the intense and explosive, Amir Sulaiman and the demure Liza Garza, (both from the Bay and both featured on HBO's Def Poetry Series); Hip Hop activist, NYOIL; the bboy/girl scene's favorite emcee, One Be Lo from Detroit; forward thinking and ever evolving NJ emcee: Hasan Salaam; Borinquen lyrical soldiers, M-Team; smooth and sassy diva MissUndastood; soulful urban griot, Tasleem Jamila Firdausee; up and coming Bay area emcee, Five Eighty; NYC's own Jabbar and Ali and Puerto Rican Muslimah, Poeta Guerrera. 	4:30pm p-chop: in response to "topic" listening to WFMU of itself IS the favorite ARTFORM i do when it comes to the current day job-----my ear has got skillz and WFMU cultivates it taste for new flavors.....in the dark hours WFMU chases my pen down the page and then back up a-gain and molds the reconfiguration of sliced up images...what would i do w/out fmu? PS: true that--recommended vaccinations are not necessary and may put children at risk greater for other diseases---dude...did this jus turn into the advise nurse site??
