  12:05pm
Joe:

Yay it's that time
  12:07pm
Cheri Pi:

My favorite time of the week.
  12:13pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings to DJ Diane and all the listeners.
  12:16pm
andymorphic:

classic blag flag...greg at his most demented
  12:17pm
john:

I made it to my desk in time for the mighty BF!! Henry Rollins is really nice. If you email him he emails right back.
  12:20pm
kamikaze:

Ha! We should all email Henry...
  12:20pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Henry rollins letters to celebrities are hilarious (youtube)
  12:23pm
Joe:

The intro to the Sewer Puppet's track has now got the Sepultura cover of NMA's The Hunt stuck in my head for some reason
  12:25pm
Joe:

Do you email him through Henry Rollins.com? I always wanted to know if there were more Wartime tracks floating around that never made the ep.
  12:26pm
ben drinken:

Henry Rollins and George Carlin both make me wonder why they spend (Carlin spent) so much time and effort and anguish making too much sense.
  12:29pm
john:

Go to the 21361 website. I sent an email saying how much I liked the previous night's talking show and he resonded almost immediately. My friend's sister was married to Andrew Weiss (Wartime bass man)..Kind of a jerk (Andrew) but a great bass player.
  12:31pm
john:

..oops probably shouldn"t have said that...sorry Andrew..
  12:36pm
Joe:

Yeah got to see him with Rollins once and than a few times with Pigface.
  12:37pm
Marmalade Kitty:

@ben drinken: when the world (it seems) is so irrational insane and inane?
  12:39pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Hail of Bullets. Great.
  12:39pm
Marmalade Kitty:

It's a Christ like effort!
  12:43pm
ben drinken:

yes, M.K. but George Carlin was funny. Is Henry Rollins funny? One of my friends was in punk bands and the scene late 70's early 80's. He said Henry Rollins dumped a shoe full of sweat on his head when he was in the crowd near the stage. now that is funny.
  12:45pm
Joe:

@ben drinken when he does his spoken word he has the potential to be very amusing in many cases in a very sardonic or self deprecating way.
  12:45pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Rollins can be funny of course! He's an energized ball of anger and compassion in human form!
  12:47pm
john:

Rollins' talking shows are hilarious. He makes fun of himself more than anyone else, especially when he brings up "the really stupid poetry I used to write.." Try to find Eric the Pilot or the stories where he goes to see Kiss and a Ratt reunion gig at separate times of course.
  12:49pm
ben drinken:

i will have to check out his show. sounds good. i have only heard short clips of his rants and thinking wow he makes mind boggling sense so much it hurts
  12:50pm
Marmalade Kitty:

How do you get a shoe full of sweat? like a brimful?? :)
  12:53pm
ben drinken:

he said he was all sweaty wearing shorts and no shirt and no socks and took off one of his shoes and dump out a huge stream of sweat that must have been from gravity and it ending up in his shoes.
  12:54pm
Marmalade Kitty:

I don't think I want to know!!
  12:55pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Thats clean Rollins sweat!
  12:58pm
ben drinken:

the guy it happened to is the front man for a not so famous band called the World Famous Hanglows.
  1:03pm
Joe:

Totally agree with John Eric The Pilot is a great place to start.
  1:04pm
Joe:

The mighty Killing Joke YES
  1:06pm
Marmalade Kitty:

The WF (pittsburgh) Hanglows sound great!
  1:08pm
ben drinken:

no, there is a ska type band from PA just called the Hang Lows. the World Famous Hanglows are from VT and prbably don't sound so great but are a blast. not quite sure if they do much anymore but put out a couple of albums.
  1:08pm
andymorphic:

i had forgotten how much i loved head of david
  1:14pm
SiHV:

Everything I've heard from this Batillus album has sounded pretty great.
  1:17pm
Cheri Pi:

Whoohoo!
  1:18pm
Joe:

Eww the new Voivod. Schoolgirl giddy
  1:20pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Happy Birthday Clint Eastwood!! If yo're listening!
Awesome show Diane!!
  1:27pm
glenn:

clint's probably more apt to be listening than corey hart. or brooke.
  1:33pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Jon Bonham and denholm Elliot, Happy Birthday!
  1:35pm
Ricardo Montalban:

ARROWS!!!
  1:37pm
ben drinken:

paranoia possibly took signing lessons from Amanda that Irwin plays a lot of. Or IS it her?
  1:50pm
Marmalade Kitty:

A late Memorial shout to all 21 year olds and all who lost their young lives, in mindless war
  1:57pm
Ricardo Montalban:

Been enjoying this wunderbar set.
  1:57pm
jen:

Hey- first time checking out the show, AWESOME.
And it is not just Diane, VOIVOD was THE set of the weekend at deathfest!
  1:59pm
bill:

And this is where somebody throws a salad in his face.
  2:02pm
glenn:

forty years old, and still a great record.
  2:05pm
bill:

I'd have to go with Killer for best AC record
  2:05pm
ben drinken:

i am not quite 40 yet and I still think it is a great record, too.
  2:07pm
glenn:

killer is good, but love it to death is more consistent by far. i meant the record is forty years old.
  2:13pm
ben drinken:

oh, the Amputees are playing. What kind of amp do they use?
  2:14pm
bill:

Killer - haha - touche!
  2:18pm
john:

Amp-peg...
  2:19pm
Chris from DC:

Nice. "Shift Operator" reminds me a lot of Edsel.
  2:19pm
ben drinken:

I once knew a guy who had his pinky toe removed. would he be considered an amputee? maybe just an amputoe.
  2:21pm
john:

I guess it should've been Amp-eg...It is really a kind of amp--I own one-
  2:21pm
ben drinken:

oh, yeah. Ampeg amps. and another one is Ampex that used to make amps and recording equipment. don't know if they still do. used to make top of the line equipment back in the day
  2:22pm
ben drinken:

hows about an amputee with no leg but he has an ampeg leg.
  2:24pm
john:

Does he pirate music?
  2:31pm
ben drinken:

there was an old pirate once at a pub. he had no legs but sat up at the bar telling stories. He was a starnge one and kept a steering wheel in his pants. one fellow had a long conversation with the aging pirate over a few pints. the fellow finally couldn't help but ask the old retired pirate why he had a steering heel in his pants. did it have something to do with him being legless? Arrggh!! the pirate said. That thing. It is driving me nuts!!!!
  2:32pm
bill:

everybody's laughing too hard to respond, ben
  2:34pm
ben drinken:

I heard that joke from a wonderful young woman who had a bad horse accident and had severe brain damage. it took her about 10 minutes to tell the joke but boy worth it. this is true.
  2:37pm
Ike:

Wait, but where was it driving his nuts TO? Why did his nuts need to be driven? And why is it important for him to be legless in this joke? Nuts can't replace legs! Everybody knows that. This joke makes no sense. I call bullshit.
  2:39pm
ben drinken:

maybe Henry Rollins can make some sense of it.
  2:40pm
john:

Legless is slang for being extremely drunk in the UK. I don't mean you must be in the UK but you must be hammered--
  2:41pm
john:

Email him! I bet he is sitting bored in an airport somewhere and would welcome the distraction.
  2:41pm
Marmalade Kitty:

hammered is also slang for being legless! ?
  2:45pm
john:

Can you get hammered on screwdrivers?
  2:46pm
laura:

No, you need a Rusty Nail or six for that.
  2:50pm
ben drinken:

if Henry Rollins didn't have legs he would maybe pour sweat from a shoe taken off one of his stumps at a concert.
  2:51pm
Joe:

Does anyone know if we are supposed to see VoiVod in the NY/NJ area again any time soon?
  2:56pm
ben drinken:

in the UK perhaps an old legless pirate could avoid a drink driving charge by telling the cops, oh no officer! see the steering wheel in me pants? I was not driving the car, I was drivin me nuts!!!!
  2:56pm
kamikaze:

They only have local shows in Canada for the rest of the summer
  2:57pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Lol! Ben drinken :)
  2:59pm
Joe:

@john I know you can get bombed by kamikazes
