Listener comments!

  12:06pm
Lemonade Stand:

This new Rocky theme is interesting
  12:09pm
van:

I suddenly and inexplicably have the urge to slaughter livestock
  12:09pm
Cecile:

I heard an old track that blew me away on my iPod - Birdo by the Blind Shake from their split CD with Michael Yonkers. If you can slide it on in the near future (not today if you're too busy), I'd love to hear it.
  12:21pm
Cecile:

That Steve Wynn album has really held up!
  12:22pm
van:

I like this. Thinking how it would sound though with really flashy drums in it though.
  12:34pm
Cecile:

Man. I thnk this Cynics is my new theme song.
  12:34pm
Lemonade Stand:

Uh oh, Cynics mean it
  12:37pm
herb:

an oldie but a definite non-moldie- THE CHILLS!!!
  12:44pm
Cecile:

Decent Soundgarden style blues-rock. I"m playing air double-kick drum to this.
  12:48pm
sfg:

Hey. That Naam song is stuck in a loop...
  12:50pm
Rodney:

Here it goes again . . .
  12:53pm
KevinWho:

sfg:
Hey. That Naam song is stuck in a loop...
Rodney:
Here it goes again .
  12:53pm
KevinWho:

see what I did there :)
  12:54pm
sfg:

Diane woke up!
  12:54pm
Rafer:

I'm enjoying this 20 minute version, but after a while it starts sounding the same... :)
  12:54pm
Handsome Harry:

It is a pretty good skip, I'll give it that much.
  12:54pm
kamikaze:

I kinda like this loop, and noticed it right away, FYI! :)
  12:55pm
Rodney:

This like a Kenny G show.
  12:55pm
Lemonade Stand:

As skips go it's pretty rockin
  12:56pm
Mikael:

Damn those who made CD players with these "A->B" buttons!
  12:56pm
KevinWho:

it's like Neil Diamond's "Shilo", or maybe that famous Extreme ballad that kept going on and on in circles
  12:57pm
Lorange:

Bouncing checks is lame, but this show is not. Thanks for the escape!
  1:01pm
sfg:

Aw, Golden Browne sounded very loopable...
  1:03pm
Cecile:

this Grinderman actually reminds me a little bit of Ed Kuepper's 90s solo albums a little bit.
  1:04pm
sfg:

this Grinderman kinda reminds me of Nick Cave...
  1:11pm
Lorange:

This Grinderman kinda reminds me of Drum Eyes.
  1:16pm
Cecile:

Oh, noes. Is this the one that Sharon ordered the rhythm section's parts recorded over? Or is it all original?
  1:17pm
joe:

Is this the Diary Reissue or the Re-Reissue :)
  1:18pm
PKNY:

@Cecile - I think this is the original, I believe the Ozzy camp reissued the first two records right around Record Store Day this year.
  1:19pm
Cecile:

PKNY. Good. I can buy them. I missed out the first time around, and seriously, have you ever seen clean copies of the first three Ozzy records clean or even playable in a used record store?
  1:20pm
Cecile:

I boycotted the reissue after I head the parts were recorded over. It's one thing for Zappa to do it because tapes were deteriorating, it's another to do it cos you're POd at someone.
  1:20pm
Cecile:

tell me about this Authorites 45...
  1:23pm
jhn:

I didn't realize that Screeching Weasel just covered that song. This version is much better.
  1:23pm
joe:

Yeah the first set of reissues has Mike Bordin and Rob Trijelo rerecording Daisley and Kerslake's parts. This was supposedly all on Sharon as Ozzy was pretty peeved she did it and insisted on it being fixed which is why we got a second set of reissues
  1:24pm
Cecile:

thank God, joe!
  1:28pm
PKNY:

@Cecile - I agree, I never see clean Rhoads-era Ozzy records in the used stores or flea markets. I still have the copies I bought new as a kid (showing age), and I wouldn't mine minting up to cleaner copies.
  1:29pm
PKNY:

@Diane - any chance of hearing some Sleep today? Need to get amped up for the show at Terminal 5 tomorrow night!
  1:30pm
joe:

@Cecile I totally agree.
I have a nice copy of Bark at the Moon still, but you are absolutly right about that.
  1:31pm
Cecile:

I can't even get one that's acceptable. They all are messed up. And the covers are toast.
  1:31pm
joe:

If it's got the extra tracks it should be the newer rerelease.
  1:33pm
joe:

Sorry Diane :)
  1:33pm
PKNY:

@Diane - actually Diary had a pic of Ozzy and Randy w/ Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge on the inner sleeve, though they didn't play on Diary.
  1:33pm
joe:

Saw Rudy Sarzo play with Blue Oyster Cult at a street festival last weekend
  1:35pm
Cecile:

Joe's right: http://iheartguitarblog.com/2011/03/news-ozzy-reissues-blizzard-diary-with-bonuses.html

joe, is Alan Lanier still with them? He was looking rough when I saw him 10 years ago.
  1:36pm
stegre:

Hey, can someone tell me what Diane's "theme" music is? I always wonder whenever I hear her show...
  1:37pm
joe:

No it's pretty much down to Buck and Eric
@stegre the opening theme to Rocky and Bullwinkle
  1:38pm
kamikaze:

PK: I should have been more specific about the pix, you're absolutely right!
Joe: Sarzo has been w/BOC for a number of years. Last time I saw BOC was 10 years ago and they were pretty diluted sounding...I fully support Blue Coupe - the Bouchard brothers' new band along with Dennis Dunaway of Alice Cooper's orig band...gotta give props there! :)
  1:39pm
Cecile:

Blue Coupe sounded really good. I will have to check them out.
  1:41pm
stegre:

@joe - thanks!
  1:41pm
joe:

Oh i'm board with that Blue Coupe is great. Eric was the high point of the show to be honest he still seemed to have his chops.
  1:42pm
joe:

Sorry should say I'm on board with that :)
  1:44pm
dictater:

completely off topic reaching out from the other side or the world, does any one know if the rum diary was released? Im talking about the movie based on the HST novel.
  1:47pm
Cecile:

Terveet Kadet!!!!
  1:48pm
joe:

Should be released between 10/28 & 12/22 depending where you are in the world. IMDB.com has the break down of release dates.
  1:48pm
eric:

thanks for the agent orange. hearing them makes me feel like i'm 14 again!
  1:50pm
Lorange:

what was the female vocal track right after the last "your dj speaks" break? Was it really Jello Biafra?
  1:51pm
Cecile:

BellRays!
  1:51pm
joe:

@lorange yup
  1:54pm
Lorange:

@joe, thank you! interesting...
  1:54pm
dictater:

just was looking at IMDB, budget 45 mil. realy? how much did J depp pocket out of that, guess it made up for his paying for the funeral
  2:07pm
van:

Is this looping too?
  2:28pm
Lemonade Stand:

Ooh, electronica
  2:38pm
sweir:

this song is great. thank you!
  2:42pm
Lemonade Stand:

Knee Hill is the effete college station pronunciation. I say go ahead with Nie Ull.
  2:44pm
kamikaze:

LS: HA! I don't even know how to pronounce effete!!!
  2:46pm
Rodney:

This is good Mercyful Fate style metal.
  2:52pm
Lemonade Stand:

A Feety, of course!
  2:52pm
joe:

Never knew that Gary Moore got this metal.
  2:54pm
joe:

One of my all time favorite PF songs and Voivod covers. Woohoo
  2:56pm
jim devoid:

Didn't the NECROS also cover the Nile Song?
  2:57pm
Lemonade Stand:

Ah yes, one of my faves, Knee Lay
  2:59pm
joe:

@jim devoid yes on Live or Else
