'ello folks
  12:11pm
jdelz:

Inquisition is so good. Isnt the story with his vocal style that he is transmitting messages from an alien god or something?
  12:13pm
joe:

Although I do like sometime it reminds me of Popeye
  12:15pm

  12:31pm
InBrkly:

What did people think of the last Bauhaus album? I liked it but I was amused because to me it sounded like Love and Rockets, with guest singer Peter Murphy.
  12:32pm
slugluv1313:

omg YES!!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!! BAUHAUS!!!!!!!!!!! Diane your show ALWAYS rocks!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! (ahhhhhhh BELA my Hungarian *soul brother*!!!!!)

  12:35pm
kamikaze:

Hi everyone! Ivan Julian is my guest today at 1pm! He will be the first guest DJ I have had on who is LIVE! Brave enough to be in the room with me ;) Also, please, if you can, please support WFMU - pledge box is up on the playlist. It's a silent fundraiser and I"m not supposed to SAY anything, but I can certainly type it! THANKEEE!
  12:35pm
dez:

I wish they'd at least keep touring and not make themselves into such a novelty. They're one of the BEST BANDS I ever saw live. I saw them Nov 2005. Unbelievably fantastic!!!
  12:36pm
dez:

I pledged last week. I'm totally poor right now :( and am struggling to make my rent for November :(
  12:39pm
dez:

Pledging is good karma though!!!! :)

joe:

Wow I'm sold
  12:48pm
Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

Talk about going back to the Reagan era... images of faux-goth Bay Area richkids (who were very much into Bauhaus) dancing through my head, back when black was still "black" and even vaguely scary...
  12:50pm
dez:

Black is still pretty scary. I get stares and comments at the laundry-mat all the time.
  12:50pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

digging the hard/psych/prog of Monument.
  12:50pm
Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

...so thanks for playing that (BLD), Diane. It's definitely a very '86-'88-ish song -- that's probably the last time I specifically played it, and my vinyl copy was stolen long ago, of course. But it does stand the test of time, I think we can say at this juncture.
  12:51pm
Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

dez: yeah but it's a different kind of "scary" now, isn't it? more like a "you can't be serious" scary
  12:52pm
Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

depends on the audience, I guess
  12:52pm
dez:

with a little bit of "thank god MY kid won't turn out like you" sprinkled in there as well!
  12:53pm
Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

little do they know!
  12:54pm
andymorphic:

lovin the gun club....such a great band
  12:54pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I've told my kid that if his hair isn't dyed purple or black by the time he's 16 I will e disappointed in him.
  12:59pm
andymorphic:

digging this 80's you are into today!!!
  1:01pm
Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

they weren't so bad, weren't so bad at all (the 80s) 'cept for that "we've got an obviously senile president who could get us blown to bits at any moment" part.
  1:02pm
andymorphic:

end of the analog age
  1:03pm
Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

and/or get us get us drafted to El Salvador, Nicaragua, or wherever at the drop of a hat.
  1:06pm
InBrkly:

Are you kidding? No self respecting teenager today would leave without some hair color or body mod. If your kid is a true rebel, he will wear a white collar and a tie.
  1:07pm

Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

a true rebel dresses exactly as he/she wants, without feeling any need to "buck", or even respond to society's, or any peer group's expectation of them
  1:23pm

Sediment Club rocks!

InBrkly:

CDs should be packaged the way EA used to package games that came on 5" floppy disks: in 10" cardboard sleeves that allowed for greater appreciation of the artwork.
  1:28pm
glenn:

and for the love of god, could we please just stop with the feckin' jewel cases? i can't think of worse packaging.
  1:28pm
miggs:
