  12:15am
Deepak:

Bring it on.
  12:17am
Destroit:

Yeah baby.... Mmmm
  12:20am
Chop Scott:

JOE!
Happy as always to be home to hear you on air...
Avatar 12:22am
Joe McG:

Hey, Chop Scott! Enjoying the fruits of your Studio A handiwork this evening! Thanks, as always.
  12:23am
Destroit:

Chop Scott: thumbs up for making well calibrated sounds happen in the studio. :)
  12:24am
Chop Scott:

Monitors sounding properly lush and full? Ok, I mean sweet!
Avatar 12:24am
Joe McG:

Hear hear (literally!)!
  12:25am
Destroit:

Let's get back to....oh yeah....oh yeah baby. Keep doing me Joe. ;)
  12:27am
Kelly Jones:

OK Joe, I'll admit it. I'm a loser and haven't heard your show before. That said....I AM NOW IN LOVE WITH YOUR SHOW AND WANT TO MARRY IT.
Avatar 12:28am
Joe McG:

KELLY! You can totally marry my show. But it's not a virgin, just so you know.
  12:28am
Destroit:

Kelly jones, oh yeah, welcome baby!
  12:35am
Destroit:

Thanks for the Marvin! Great show so far Joe,
  12:42am
Destroit:

I think I know this song. Looking forward to the next two hours.
Avatar 12:44am
Joe McG:

Thanks, Destroit. Me, too! We'll see what happens together!
  12:46am
Julie:

Kelly Jones-Surface Noise I like it
  12:46am
Destroit:

Air! Their live show was so disorienting I almost puked, that's a compliment. Sebastian Tellier (SP?) opened, equally boggling.
  12:48am
Destroit:

And hello Julie, kisses to the birds.
  12:52am
Matt from Springfield:

Rabbit rabbit!
Greetings Joe and everyone! Crammed a global soundclash into this night, going from Air to Honeymoon Killers to...Christine Pilzer!
  12:52am
Julie:

Hi Destroit. I will try to give them kisses but they DO bite
  12:53am
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Julie!
In fact don't you have cockatoos? Any cockatoo twins among your pets?
  12:55am
Julie:

Hi matt! Nope no cockatoos here.
  12:56am
birdie:

*peck on the cheek*
  12:58am
Destroit:

Totally understand Julie...hey Matt, good to see you pop up. Joe, oh yeah, keep workin' ....:) baby
  1:00am
Julie:

Wonder if Joe will bring out the France Gall :)
Avatar 1:01am
Joe McG:

I'd rather keep her in, yuk yuk.
  1:02am
Destroit:

No idea what that means Julie, but I have a good feeling that I'll like it. Joe?
  1:02am
Julie:

this song in particular brings to mind 70s France Gall
  1:03am
Matt from Springfield:

Annie Philippe! 60s French pop singer, Trouble has played her.
She also released a version of "Baby Love".
  1:03am
Destroit:

Sheesh, sounds complicated. Keep moving Joe.
  1:04am
Matt from Springfield:

Veronique Sanson--I knew that sounded familiar!
Julie, she was the original writer of the French language "Amoureuse"!
Avatar 1:06am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Yes, from her first LP! This is from her 2nd.
  1:08am
Matt from Springfield:

That's a good one Joe!

And, thanks to Julie introducing us to Olivia's version of that, FOUR artists have received 99 cents from me! I went iTunes shopping a got Veronique's original, Olivia and Kiki Dee's English versions, and Patti Dahlstrom's "Emotion".
  1:12am
Matt from Springfield:

"Little Diane", from Dion!
Ha ha, wonder if my Mom knows about this one!
(I recently pointed out to her the Irish group The Bachelors did the songs "Diane" and "Marie", both her names, within a year of each other!)
Avatar 1:13am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Patti Dahlstrom!
Avatar 1:17am
Joe McG:

This song is sort of like "Little Diane" with Albert Ayler instead of kazoos.
  1:18am
Matt from Springfield:

I never heard of her either before the Wiki article linked her to the song "Emotion" from "Amoureuse" and I listened to her--she was kind of a pop crossover from country but I think she had a wonderful voice. Shame she wasn't more popular, she did some great songs.
  1:18am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: Aha, that's the connection! I hear a bit of "Little Diane" in the chords as well! :)
  1:20am
Matt from Springfield:

Whoa! East German "Wedding Night" makeout soul from '74!
Ach du lieber, ich mag, ich mag!!
  1:22am
Matt from Springfield:

They imitated that Gladys Knight, Minnie Ripperton sound well!
It's Surface Noise, Daddy's Hideaway and TSP tastes all in one! What will they think of next?! :D
  1:23am
Mike Sin:

Politburo-approved funk.
  1:25am
Matt from Springfield:

"Given revealing answers to burning questions"!

Hey Mike! Shortage of anticipated workers to be born for '75, have to do something about that! :)
  1:28am
12539:

And to think this set started with Marvin Gaye singing "Yesterday."
  1:31am
Julie:

joe has to play accordian with the hoof n mouth
  1:32am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Note to self...learn to play the accordion someday.
  1:33am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: "Given revealing answers to burning questions"!!!!! ;)

Wow, that was Fred vom Jupiter!
  1:34am
Matt from Springfield:

"Klarinettpolka" is PGB's theme to every show. That Clarinet Polka must be the same tune.
  1:36am
Julie:

wait I missed it what movie is this?
  1:38am
Matt from Springfield:

Stevie's version was recently featured in the commercial for some movie; I had already heard of it, and I like it a lot--if only it was played more often.
Avatar 1:40am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Really? What movie, do you remember?
  1:40am
Parq:

Hya Joe. Been here since the top of the show, but Little Stevie's "We Can Work"? That's it, I'm going to bed. It can't get any better.
Avatar 1:41am
Joe McG:

Thanks, Parq! Nice to see you, man.
  1:43am
Matt from Springfield:

Good night, hidden-Parq!

@Joe: Don't know, it was a couple years ago I saw a commercial with it in it.
  1:45am
Brain in KU:

Mornin' Joe 'n all.
Avatar 1:46am
Joe McG:

Hey, Brian, welcome to the show. Twiggy also says hi.
  1:47am
Julie:

yay the twiggy version I love this!
  1:52am
Matt from Springfield:

Rockin' boats, rockin' soul, they need to broaden their themes a little!
  1:56am
Matt from Springfield:

Funky rock 'n soul!
I assume "Huggie's Bunnies" are the ladies of Huggie Bear?
Avatar 1:58am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Well, they MUST be! Speaking of cockatoos...
  2:01am
Brain in KU:

Grace's voice has dropped or maybe not!!
Avatar 2:01am
Joe McG:

@Brian: I just found her version on 45! Future feature on Single File!
  2:04am
Brain in KU:

Daniel Miller did a Listener Hour in April 2003.
  2:08am
Matt from Springfield:

Once again, we're trapped in the Steaknet...
  2:09am
Brain in KU:

Mose Allison's daughter.
  2:12am
Matt from Springfield:

Yes, heard about Mr. Scruggs. Nice of you to do a tribute.
  2:19am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Note to self...learn to play the banjo someday.
Avatar 2:20am
Joe McG:

@Ken: I'd like to learn how to play the banjo and the accordion at the same time.
  2:21am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: That's Steve Martin on the Gong Show territory!
"You can't be up here Joe, you're on the panel!"
Avatar 2:23am
Joe McG:

I'd love to be on the Gong Show also. You know, I just started reading Steve Martin's book "Born Standing Up."
  2:29am
Matt from Springfield:

This Gene Clark is so introspective and mellow, that was lovely!
And this next one, by Ronnie & Pete, great mood going here.
  2:37am
Merle T.:

You do that, son.
  2:38am
Brain in KU:

There's no fool like an old fool. What does that mean?
Avatar 2:41am
Joe McG:

@Brian: I don't know. Same thing as "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now"?
  2:43am
G:

It means you're double-insulting someone by calling them both stupid and elderly.
Avatar 2:45am
Joe McG:

Or maybe it means that an old fool isn't really foolish at all?
  2:46am
Brain in KU:

Ever played Pickettywitch? Do not know where that came from, Joe.

I suppose 'you are old enough to know better' still makes no sense. There are trap door everywhere you go & your eyesight gets worse as you get older.
  2:46am
G:

Ya just never know. The old double negative conundrum.
Avatar 2:48am
Joe McG:

I love the word conundrum.
  2:48am
Brain in KU:

Colin Blunstone song?
Avatar 2:49am
Joe McG:

@Brian: Actually, it's Russ'. Colin had the hit, though.
  2:50am
Matt from Springfield:

That slick Russ Ballard production.
America in the 80s had him produce their albums.
  2:50am
G:

You can get conundrums at the drugstore nowadays. They have 'em right out in the open, not under the counter.
  2:50am
Brain in KU:

Thanks, Joe.

Pusillanimous is my favourite word.
  2:51am
Pusillana Mouse:

I'm using that.
  2:51am
Brain in KU:

@G That'll be the 'Rib Tickler'?
  2:52am
G:

Some kinda tickle, ah reckonz.
Avatar 2:52am
Joe McG:

It'll tickle something.
  2:52am
G:

Great minds etc.
  2:54am
12539:

(Thanks Joe)
  2:54am
Brain in KU:

You've brought the sun out over here, Joe. Thanks.
Hope you recognise any pranks today everyone! Sleep tight.
  2:56am
Matt from Springfield:

Happy April Fools' Day everyone!
And that's no joke!!

Thanks Joe for another amazing show!
  2:59am
Hostile Jesus:

Fine. I'll live. Sorry, I'll resurrect.
  2:59am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Don't make me make a note to myself to learn to play the harmonica some day!
