love the show because I do not love nick lowe...I want to understand, so hit me!
...I am always perplexed when FMU DJs play & praise lowe but I am hanging in there- bec you are providing the info & FUN! Thanks!
p.s. I always brushed him off as a guy thing...am girl...am in the mood to see it another way...happy you're here this beautiful Sat spring morning.

Marc Grobman:

Hi Mike, I'm sure I'll enjoy your show, since I did last week!

Odd thing about that Nick Lowe "Here Comes that Girl Again" you played: the lyrics & melody seem like a slowed-down version of Eddie Cochran's "Somethin' Else," from 1959-62 or so. Eddie's version even starts, after a sort of spoken intro: "Here comes that girl again!"

Take it slow (about 45 rpm), and maybe see you at the Record Riot show tomorrow in Brooklyn. Marc Grobman

Great interview! Just saw him a few nights ago here in Milwaukee, fantastic show. I won't spoil the surprise (Google for set lists if you're interested) but he threw in a '60s R&B cover that I really hope he records.

Kudos Michael! Do you have any Little Village handy?
  12:53pm
David from NJ in ATL:

Thanks for two great shows in a row featuring Nick Lowe (and thanks for interviewing Linda Ramone - I had just read Johnny's book, and it is typical Johnny, if you know what I mean).

Ian Gomm (co-writer of "Cruel To Be Kind" has some great records too - especially his first LP.
