Hey All! The phones are still out for call-ins here at WFMU, so no guests this week! Thanks for tuning in, don't forget to pledge if it is at all possible for you to do so!
  12:25pm
Cheri Pi:

this Wolfmangler track is badass,
  12:25pm
SteveL:

Whirling Hall of Knives. That phrase was used by a good friend, describing the care-free attitude displayed by most one-year-olds. ie. "He would walk into a whirling hall of knives if you didn't stop him."
  12:27pm
Cheri Pi:

Damn, so much good music. Is this new Hex Machine album out yet? I needs.
  12:38pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I believe Tom Scharpling took some calls on Tuesday night.
  12:38pm
josh:

I'd love OM tickets!

The power is restored in most parts in Lower Manhattan. Why the Record Fair is still cancel...
  12:44pm
SteveL:

Fear! (Don't you boys know any nice songs?)
  12:45pm
ScottC:

I saw a short video on Spit Stix. He had been basically homeless and was staying at somebodies house and became a really good caregiver to the homeowners mother. Feeding cleaning etc... very sweet story.
  12:46pm
BSI:

LECHEROUS GAZE is a name steeped in awesome.

@Ken, thanks, I will check on that. @Alexis - where we have the record fair is booked every weekend until our next scheduled record fair. They couldn't reschedule us!
  12:49pm
tim from champaign:

I agree with Diane about The Fear Record. Very confounding. As the song played, my thoughts were "Why? Hmmm...not bad. But what's the point? Not bad. Ving really didn't need to do a remake. But this part is interesting......."
  12:50pm
Cheri Pi:

This show is already getting expensive.I can't wait for payday to make my donation to 'FMU and finally buy a record.
  12:50pm
Cheri Pi:

Agreed BSI!
  12:50pm
SteveL:

ScottC:Vid on Youtube? Interested in looking it up.

I had a punker friend who trashed an IHOP in Madison, WI with Fear. (NEVER put that many syrups on the table!)

@ScottC- cool info. Years ago I was supposed to interview Fear/Lee after a Peppermint Lounge show. When I went backstage he reamed me out for being "media" and accused me of twisting his words (pre-interview, mindyou). Spit took me aside and gave me a great interview. It was a few years before I was on WFMU, so it aired on my carrier current college station. Spit and the other guys were mellow. Lee was pretty full of himself, or on drugs IMHO.
  12:59pm
ScottC:

I worked as club security in SF back in the day and there was a really violent north/south California thing going on - lots of fights -and Lee Ving was persona non grata for a long time. Then I saw FEAR at the old I-Beam around 92' and all was forgiven by then...
  1:01pm
SteveL:

ScottC: Thanks for the link. I'll make myself wait to watch after work.

  1:21pm

I once saw a band comprised of a man dressed like a jungle hunter backing a singing ape. He called his keyboard the Fun Machine.
  1:38pm
SteveL:

Need to revisit the WFMU Shaved Women live set from earlier this year. (My Castle of Quiet?)
