I never ever engage with crazy people on the subway. I can spot trouble a mile away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm
G:

crazy angry person whose entire life is creating meaningless drama. my ex wife's mom used to claim men were always following her. trust me, they WEREN'T.

she used to tell crazy stories about riding the subway, totally impossible stories about that the government had gotten Columbia to hire her to carry nuclear weapons on the subway for government tests etc etc etc

you ran into the doppelganger of my ex-mother-in-law
Avatar 9:59pm
Droll:

[quick kitchen-lurking break]

Anyway, I finally unbuttoned my shirt, and said,
"look, look, I'm in this band, you know, I'm in this band you know,
and we're makin' a recording, you know.
It's about New York City, it's about crime in the streets.
"The explanation was going nowhere, but,
Finally, they just kinda let me go, I don't know why.
So I walk around the corner,
and I'm like shakin' like a leaf,
and I thought, "This is a dangerous place"
Who should appear, but two policeman.

Re divorce: We all have our weirdnesses and hard-to-live-with-nesses. I bear no grudges, and am still friends with my ex (dogsat for her for a week last month); ex-mom-in-law died in 2010. -- The issue with the divorce was not the mother in law, but not being loved. Not a tale for here and now. :)

@earrie: I wouldn't say anything to a subway nut. They can push me very far and I won't react. This was somehow different.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm
G:

She gotcha, man. She probably does something like that several times a week, and is very good at getting around even our long-ingrained NYC subway-riding strategies and methods. -- Even the acting-normal part: Think how much effort she must have to put into *that*. :-)

The Lubomyr Melnyk was amazing -- I thought it was two pianists.

I didn't notice the change to icons. I'm so often confounded by the lack of WYSIWYG software I hardly notice. I blame defective bloatware. The two central fallacies of computing are:
1. Any problem with software can be remedied with more software
2. Testing is not way to inspect-in quality. Testing proves the presence of bugs, not their absence.
