As X.Ray Burns told us this week, wieners are from Vienna, frankfurters from Frankfurt. WFMU, making sure you're prepared for your summer.

Today's news: Providence police are investigating two overnight car fires in the city's Olneyville section. Only two. That's pretty good.

Ralphine:

I wonder if John Munroe had a Roman method incident after eating all those wieners.

Ike:

Tim@10:48, at a Thai restaurant, you can say "pet pet," which means "very spicy." That's not always 100% effective but it helps.

Ralphine:

I'd be afraid that they would serve me a dog, Ike.

Last time I was at ONYS the cross-restaurant conversation was on what "American Samora" is and how it got on one of our quarters.

The Safari Lounge was amazing. Big python in a tank that if you were lucky would get fed a rat. Better to watch than a lot of the bands.

Ike:

My understanding is that the numbers are so minuscule as to be insignificant. And when someone is ignorant enough to suggest that a Thai restaurant in the U.S. would be foolish enough to serve such a thing which would completely destroy their business, or makes a nonsensical comment about the word "spicy" somehow magically transmuting into an order for dog, I get ticked off.

Well, the dogs in Olneyville are worth the trip.

Enjoyed listening to their accents. The regional accent is a dying thing in this television-ruled country.

Not gonna happen. See, this is usually a place where we go to talk about unusual and/or spicy food without that usual disgusting ignorance.
