An ironic end for Mr. Berger would be mummification in cassette tape, then entombed in a plastic clamshell (with broken hinge), and left on the dashboard of a car parked in the sun and left to discolor, warp, and bake into dust.

Speaking of irony, doesn't it require freewill to be against something like gravity, or freewill?

Avatar 1:35am

The band name Hivesmasher reminds me of the bogus news story about the guy who died after having sex with a hornet's nest. That story's run in major news sources over the past two days, but it was already debunked last year:
metro.co.uk...
I guess journalists don't have access to Google yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38am
G:

Why check google and ruin a perfectly good story? As with pre-scientific etymologies, the level of currency is driven by how sensational the story is, not by its factual status or likelihood.
Avatar 1:41am
Pine:

There was a guy in the UK got caught shagging his bike and was put on the sex offenders register a couple years ago. Seems unfair, he actually pleaded guilty. I'm curious how he did it e.g. spinning the wheel and cockslapping the spokes? I hope its on the court record in explicit detail.

G, They might check because it's their job as journalists and they get paid to check. The Onion tries harder to get it right.
Actually, I like farces like this because it helps me figure out which "news" sources to ignore wholesale.
Avatar 1:43am
Pine:

Even worse it was in the privacy of his own hotel room and someone walked in. What is the world coming too when you can't bum a bike in peace ffs

Pine, Not to be too graphic, but imagine a bicycle with no seat.

Newspapers are dying. They think their job is to make a sensational read that their editor happy, and keeps people from drifting away before they croak.

The internet never had much in the way of standards. Information wants to be stupid.

In the 80's when people were afraid of violence on TV, the result was The A-Team, where they fire 1,000 rounds and blow up 5 cars but everyone gets up and walks away, just like the Roadrunner cartoons they edited all the violence out of.

Hello Wm, I'm catching the show tonight a bit late. What I've heard sounds great though, Husere Grav puts me in a special place. I also wanted to thank you for the Tom Carter / Pat Murano LP I won from the WFMU marathon. It's such a spaced out alien record. The sounds and silkscreened artwork on the sleeve are both amazing.
