Great selection! This sounded a bit more like their tracks in the "Debt Begins at 20" film. Awesome show - thanks for playing!

Morning Mike. Thanks! It was a last minute decision, glad you like.

i always find it so awkward that marcos valle is being acclaimed in the us and the rest of the world, because in brazil he is known - if he is known - as a composer of novela's (soap operas) soundtracks. and not the remarkable ones...
Avatar 8:39am
doca:

@Mike: do you almondegas, clube da esquina or sá, rodrix e guarabira? for me, those are the bands that made the kind of music that should be estimated outside of brazil. i mean, that blend of local folk and psychedelia that is being valued.
Avatar 8:44am
MVL:

interesting. Haven't heard all of them, but I agree with you to a certain extent. People are known for different things in different countries. can be awkward
Avatar 8:46am
doca:

yes, i don't want it to sound like a jealous kind of thought or something like that, it's just that it's strange when something about your local culture becomes exotized in this way. anyway, it's good to be revisiting marcos valle. and you should listen to the first two records by almodegas eheh
Avatar 8:49am
MVL:

No, I understand. I appreciate the comments.
