Every new Amy Rigby song that I hear sounds like an extension of the last one of hers I heard. Which suggests one big song, albeit a nice one. They also suggest that maybe she begins her day by crying for several minutes. Which I hope is not the case.

haha, PAUL WESTERBERG was interviewed in THE BIG TAKEOVER magazine, about 10years ago (*i* was lucky enough to transcribe it). he describes appearing on an abc-tv music awards show & in front row is DAVE EDMUNDS, drunk, with his pals. the band goes into their song (damn, wish i could remember title) and paul says that he can read dave edmunds lips, "what the f*ck is this?". hilarious.

I saw Ubu start a set with "Pact" on their first tour after regrouping in the 90s. Dave T announced, "Our manager begged us not to do this song again, but it won't be the first time we didn't listen to good advice." I remember hearing those first rhythm guitar chords kick in and thinking, "Welcome back, guys."

"take it off" - i heard alex chilton sing this, live (r.i.p.). sidenote: npr had a segment on CIRCUS RIDICULOUS and it said its acts are, well, ridiculous. like, a nude woman would come out & the crowd would yell "put it on!", and she would. by show's end, she'd look like she was inside a sleeping bag!!!
Avatar 2:35pm

this past saturday, BOB BRAINEN had a story about "the twist", involving HANK BALLARD and AHMET ERTUGAN. very interesting.

Why does everybody hate Rod Stewart? He has so many great recordings. All right, so he made a few records that are the kind you make when you're trying to schtupp French supermodels. I'd a done it too, and so would you, fellas.
Avatar 2:45pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- well - exactly - massive overplayed Hits that are his (Rod's) worst stuff - it's not because he can't sing, wasn't on great stuff, or isn't a nice guy (?)...
  2:45pm

I hate Eric Clapton more than Rod Stewart and I was quite fond of both in the day. I don't blame them for making money, I just choose to not to listen to their work of the past 30 years.

- on DianeK's show we wondered out loud why we don't hear Faces instead of Stones once in a while...
