Constance, you think you are joking, but a seemingly nice young lady is sitting in the park across from my workplace, with some friends, quite topless, and she has been there for about an hour and a half. Perfectly legal in New York.

Speaking of the Bonzos... I heard an obscure cut (Rawlinson End) last night which I am pretty sure influenced JKRowlings wrt screaming Mandrakes and Trelawwny , but I haven't gone back to confirm.

That is detail from my daughter and her friend's extensive ninja's vs pirates mural from the downstairs bathroom at our old house. In this case it is a shark eating a pirate.

Ted, I think we all go through that with "Can't Get Used". The mind just goes "No-o-o-o-o, you can't *like* an Andy Williams record!" But you do, and that's that.

Oh My! This is them singing a Gordon Lightfoot song!
Avatar 3:45pm
kat330:

It's the arrangement that's genius. Most anyone singing it would have been just as great.
Avatar 3:46pm
Erella:

Have you heard Nico's version of the same song? Hers is so earnest. Not as much as the original but also wonderful.
Avatar 3:47pm
Erella:

I live in Toronto. The Replacements played a reunion gig here last month that was amazingly fresh and fantastic.
Avatar 3:47pm
kat330:

@Erella: The Lightfoot or "Can't Get Used..."? Can't say I've heard either though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm
Parq:

Erella, did they actually finish their songs? If so, they've changed a lot since I saw them. (Although in fairness, I understand that they had "on" nights even in those days.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm

westerberg threw in a reference to johnny thunders at the end there with "don't try"

Avatar 3:51pm

i have that nico single somewhere.
Avatar 3:52pm
Erella:

They were in good spirits and seemed to be happy to be on the stage. Iggy Pop was on the same bill! Westerberg did forget the words a couple times but it was a fabulous Replacements show.
They said it was the first gig they did together in 17 yrs or something
Avatar 3:53pm
