Avatar 7:43am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...freaking cold up here again this week - well Below Freezing for Highs, & Lows even Below ZeroF; doesn't look like anything notable is expected to fall from the sky
...but I got four days off in a row (GreatGawdAlmighty! Free@Last!) - no alarm clocks...little money this soon after payday again - let's see if I can get some practical things done in the time rather than just watch myself slip further into dotage & then go back to Werk again...
Avatar 7:45am fxo:

Live it up, Rev.

Mayfield !
Avatar 8:01am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...watched '1964' on PBS' 'American Experience' - since it was my 1st year of life & had the Beatles - see if it could tell me anything new - & it did sum it all up pretty well in two hours; the idea that the U.S. was still in the 50s before that - but by the end of the year Culture was its' way to everything the 60s would become...The Civil Rights (lots on Mississippi ) stuff still had me pounding my armrest till I hurt my hand...
  8:04am p-90:

Well, don't actually hurt your own hand, RR
  8:06am p-90:

Or break the chair...
  8:07am Longtime Listener:

Frank:) I like to download your show and keep it in my personal archives
Avatar 8:10am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- chair don't matter so much !...
Avatar 8:11am bibi:

it turns mash-up but the gang gang dance sound is still here.
  8:12am Longtime Listener:

I am so happy. I'm building a super archive of my favorite FMU shows
Avatar 8:14am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& we forget how earnest & optimistic & trusting everybody was before Vietnam & then Watergate & the 70s Recessions (the Economy was *great*!!) & everything...that's the real time-warp aspect of it...
  8:17am 3d-nyc:

Gang Gang Dance performed in the WHITNEY Biannial 2008-
I videotaped the Exibition
GGD had a great projection-concept with the Performance too-
Avatar 8:18am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- that's great LL; 'Downtown Soulville' is available as a Podcast.
- DJ efd has been quoted as saying 'Archives are like Mixtapes w/ PeopleTalking' - & that kinda sums up why I still generally don't even think about Archives - even though they're a vast resource...
...Mercy ! - can I even handle hear Susannah Hoffs sing 'save it fellator'...
Avatar 8:18am duke:

I heard this version of Save it for later on another show last week. It set me off on a binge of playing The English Beat
Avatar 8:19am fxo:

I gotta see the PBS special.

Just to announce, the FMU marathon is on it's way. I'll have a new premium CD, to be called "Found Sound Around". Look for it...
Avatar 8:22am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- I really like these Sweet-Hoffs covers I've heard ! Great Producers! - altho' I think Joe Belock called it a missed opportunity to re-interpret...Pete Townshend covered 'Save It for Later' Live; I thot the English Beat were great...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35am Guido (Cologne):

heavily sampled from Gainsbourg "Histoire du Melody Nelson"
Avatar 8:36am mauri:

guido, aah thats where its from. sounds so familiar.
  8:39am davidm from ks:

,,,,You make MonMorns GoodFXO!!
Avatar 8:42am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- oh - I didn't even think of that as Robert Palmer - his MTV hits were so massive & eclipsed that...everything's starting to be so long ago - !! - actually forgetting some of that 20thCentury stuff - yerknow - ??...
Avatar 8:44am fxo:

thanks davidm.

much appreciated...
Avatar 8:46am Jay/London:

I enjoyed the show Frank made getting rid of stuff a bit better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48am Sem Chumbo:
