"Sweet Child", on one of those Warner/Reprise budget anthologies, was my introduction to Pentangle, and remains a favorite.

time to go to bed..I meant the KP Juice mashup. ok.. wow the Lorde song is DREADFUL with stuppit video to match. Pretty vacuous. I just cannot get moved by that music at all.

P-9Ø:

@Dave M.: Yeah, Pentangle ARE essential. If anyone is due for rediscovery/reappraisal, it's they

OK, I guess I stopped checking.

There was a lot of surprise comments-board appearances lately on shows not normally using the comments board.

Did people get personal towards Pseu ? I was thinking how good that for all that - no one called anyone else a poopoo-head - but maybe I missed it, &/or Comments were Deleted...
- Wonder if this Jimi Bass is Upside-Down? : )

a little closer:

I think Hendrix just turned around and faced the wall when he played other folks instruments. That saved him all the trouble to restring the darn thing. :)

...Jimi played Bass on his own stuff too - on 'ElectricLadyland' - so - not unfamiliar actually...

Yo,Whooda!
...you mean he faced a mirror? or...???

- has been remarked that as a Leftie - Jimi is a mirror to all us other guitarists. True that !...

I guess that makes Sir Paul the mirror to all us bassists. I'm cool with that. Can't wait to see the best parts of him and Ringo on YT tomorrow!

Dave Mandl:

All guitarists think they can play bass. Not true!
Avatar 11:53pm
Whooda:

Yes, just a stupid joke. Turning around would make the guitar neck face the wrong way,That's the dead-giveaway of a lefty player. Sorry for the lameness there.

Just reading about Pablo Casals -- he played at the White House for both Theodore Roosevelt (1904) and John Kennedy (1961)! Quite a span.

- oh no - Bass is in the Rhythm Section folks...frets're further apart too !; feels weird to go back & forth, actually...
  11:56pm
P-9Ø:

@Dave M.: True that. I started learning guitar and bass at the same time, and kept up on both, "neck and neck", cuz even when a wee one I knew they were separate thingies
Avatar 11:56pm
Dave Mandl:

Yes, bass necks are usually much longer. You need to be able to really stretch those fingers.

A lot of times you can tell that it's a guitarist playing bass. There's something about the way they approach it.

For me the "Native Bassist" giveaway is finger picking and slap/pop. Guitarists cannot fake either.
Thanks Dave, have a fun week yinz!

- someone gave me a Bass - & after a bit - my guitar seemed all tiny & wrong!: you get muscle memory of where things should be...yup - I'm too noodley on Bass - even Jimi used Chords a good bit there you hear - & of course Noel Redding for him was converted to Bass from Guitar...

@Droll: good pint, especially the fingerpicking approch to bass strings, guitarists aren't comfrortable with it the way "native bassists are
THANKS Dave!!!
