Usually those European Liberty/Sunset-cheapos were re-packagings / compilations of earlier stuff.

I do like Joe Walsh, just the Eagles have always left me cold. I worked their show at Bethel Woods last summer and I surely can't fault their musicianship or professionalism, and they are really nice guys. I just find the whole to be far less than the sum of its parts. Maybe it's a left-coast thing with which I can't identify much. I do, however, sing along when it comes on the radio, so I might just fear it as an earworm.

@Brian: that's what I hear.

Oh man, football players! Soccer is played no matter what is going on. My son practices outside in the snow in 15 degree whether.

@ Mike Noble, so they changed the rule, I guess...well, maybe someday Cleveland will actually see a Super Bowl if not participate in it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am
Mike Noble:

correction, my eagles reference was to their first championship, not their last. my belove iggles have never won a super bowl.

This is a brilliant set, Joe. Funny, I still remember when a majority of FMU listeners turned up their noses at country.

@DCE - I don't know if they changed the rule or just waived it for this one time. Apparently they got to thinking about this more than a decade ago as a way to help NYC come back from 9/11.

@ Mike Noble, haha, yeah, that seems about right...ineffectual politics even in the world of sports, taking 13 years to help NYC get back on its feet...

KP, agree completely. By then, George Jones was such a part of what FMU is about that I regarded his death as an occasion uniquely suited to FMU treatment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am
Mike Noble:

@DCE- forgot to say, cleveland is also unlikely because your stadium is considered too old at this point. build a new one and you stand a better chance at getting the super bowl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am
Lizardner Dave:

I don't know that the "50 degree rule" ever officially existed and if it did it wasn't lifted for NYC, Indianapolis hosted the game two years ago. Nobody crapped themselves about possible snow then because Indianapolis has a domed stadium.
