Bitter Music, the collection of his journal writings during his hobo days is a remarkable book - bits of music written in with the prose… You can almost see him thinking! It has been recorded but the narrator was a truly unfortunate choice given the material.

PS Delusion of the Fury album had a 2nd disk with an intro from Harry about the instruments. Priceless. (Especially the bass marimba) Not included with the CD. Sniff-sniff.

yes, it's a nerdy compliment. Actually, it was first pointed out by Vickie Bennett, as another rabid listener to WFMU programs. I've often found that's the case, though, that most really peculiar songs seem to be played first (or at least playlisted) on a WFMU show.

Thanks for the Partch airing. Betty Freeman was indeed a blessing in later years but Madeline Tourtelot of Chicago (and many others) was a long term angel and artistic collaborator.
