Favoriting April 22, 2014: Chris T. at the Melrose Trading Post Flea
Janet and I are in Los Angeles visiting our friends Kaz and Linda and we hit the Melrose Trading Post Flea Market on Easter Sunday. Held in the parking lot of Fairfax High School at Fairfax and Melrose Avenues, the flea market takes place every Sunday and is a fundraiser for the school. A trek to the Trading Post is a tradition but this time I decided to bring my trusty (and crappy) Sony ICD-UX512 Flash recorder to do another installment of "Chris T. at the Flea". The sound quality leaves a great deal to be desired but the content negates any of those concerns. During this hour you'll hear: • Several uses of my powerful bargaining phrase "Got any flexibility on this?" • Aromatherapy Exper, Internet Radio Host and Conspiracy Theorist Mike Schultz, talks about chemtrails. • Tommy Couples, vintage watch expert, speaks with me about the secondary watch market. • Performance Poet Gumby Sparks and his one-word poem "God's Heroin". • Astrologer/Somatic Experiencing Practioner Gerry Greenberg hips me to his guru, Prem Rawat. • A surly vendor who "sells to people of the Jewish persuasion" and isn't interested in "playing the (bargaining) game". • Hannah and her typewriters. All that and lots of Easter Sunday Hollywood flavor, unedited and in windblown stereo, tonight on Aerial View.
