I remember a couple of times staying with friends of mine whose families made incredible Palestinian food, including some sort of dessert pasta whose name I can't remember. Nobody else I've ever asked about it knows what I'm talking about!

One last thing on sweets then back to music, bibi, since you mention it: one of my most vivid memories is of homemade Palestinian baklava right out of the oven, to this day my mouth waters when I think of it.

My friend's grandmother who served it to me patiently explained to me that it was in fact a dessert when I didn't believe her (I was probably 8), and she even had me repeat the Arabic word to her, but I forgot! Great show last night, by the way, Nick: I was listening but catatonic.

I remember a couple of times staying with friends of mine whose families made incredible Palestinian food, including some sort of dessert pasta whose name I can't remember. Nobody else I've ever asked about it knows what I'm talking about!

One last thing on sweets then back to music, bibi, since you mention it: one of my most vivid memories is of homemade Palestinian baklava right out of the oven, to this day my mouth waters when I think of it.

My friend's grandmother who served it to me patiently explained to me that it was in fact a dessert when I didn't believe her (I was probably 8), and she even had me repeat the Arabic word to her, but I forgot!
