@Brian no I did not. the portal it went trhough dont seem to open again. Good thing I dont need it and I managed to install internet radio on my phone again so wfmu is possible when outdoors. should do forst work but I'm still too intoxicated for billhook handling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18am
Fran:

Mr Baker......or Mr Badcrumble? As a drummer of sorts myself I've never been overly impressed with him as a virtuoso like many - but he has his moments and he does have a knack of fitting in with some amazing musicians e.g. Fela Kuti's band and there was his Hawkwind moment so......I did see his 'Jazz Confusion' group last year which was damn good I have to say. Bill, my second best friend, the answer is in the post.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19am
Stanley:

Yo Bill - the fatted calf awaits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20am

@Fran I just saw that he did some jazz things in the late 80s with Nicky Scopelitis, Sonny Sharrock , Peter Brotzmann and Jan Kazda. Let could be interesting listening
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22am
Fran:

Yes Mauri - a soft drink before billhooking in the future please - you never know what unsuspecting woodland creature might lose a home
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22am

Ginger Baker.... actually he wasn't as foul-mouthed as I was expecting. Just a grumpy old bastard. I absolutely loved the old Cream footage.

Fran Lewis Taylor playing in EBE towards the end and he has a Marvin Gaye fixation. Go figure.

Lewis Taylor - a much missed/where is he now man! Has anyone heard the bootlegged version of Trout Mask Replica he did playing everything himself? Bootlegged, heard by few and swiftly policed very carefully by Lewis himself apparently to avoid future postings - I've never heard it but would love to.

Guido from Cologne:

Some recent Pete Townshend interview confused me.
He sais how much he was concerned about people being in key.
Blaming some promintent groups for singing off key.
But take the mit/late-60ies Who: there's quite a lot pretty much off key.
my ex-girlfriend had the absolute pitch. She was suffering bodily from old Who recordings.

Good groove to this set, Bill.

Bill Mac:

Hah, there's something to be said about recordings that are not 'perfect'. I forgot to mention earlier that I spent a few hours watching movies (I think most were BBC TV things) about the progressive years. They interviewed Ian Anderson who said that he couldn't understand why people wanted to go back to more primitive styles of music.

Guido from Cologne:

They were well educated young man who were proud of being able to proove that there was some "real culture and virtuosity" in their music. ... exactly the thing that could get one ones nerves if all the "culture and virtuosity" suffers lack of ideas. It start to become pretentious. But by very nature those prog guys were heading for the future and future and better and quicker and masterwork follows masterwork forever ...

.... ending up with King Arthur on Ice!

Wakeman!!!!!!!!!!!! No!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill Mac:

Speaking of which, how did Rick Wakeman land a talk show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43am
Stanley:

Ah...that ol' primitive style music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44am
Brian in UK:

First Genesis produced by that pervert Jonathan King.

Ian Anderson loves........Ian Anderson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am
Brian in UK:

Bill, Wakeman is very affable fellow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am
Fran:

I can handle a bit of Tull though Brian......earlier better - they never went full on prog.
Avatar 5:46am
Bill Mac:

As much as I loved much of that music, I was glad he seemed disappointed...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am
Stanley:

Bill - I think he got popular by appearing on a long running show called Grumpy Old Men. Worth a check out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am
Guido from Cologne:

... a lot of bands stopped being interesting, when they started to perfom in a "professional manner" or were "able to play". German bands are typical for that.:
Can, Amon Düül II, Eloy, Guru Guru
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am
Brian in UK:

Stanley do you watch THAT sort of show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am
Stanley:

Guido - no one can stay young for long.

Bill Mac:

I also got a look at a glam retrospective. I enjoyed the Noddy Holder interview.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50am
Brian in UK:

For Wakeman ready Noddy. The Affable Boys. What happened to knarly Rock 'n Roll. Oh yes, Lou died last year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50am
Stanley:

Not really, Brian. Everything (including that sort of show) is shite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51am
Brian in UK:

TV (in general) would make Lord Reith turn in his grave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51am
Stanley:

I used to enjoy bands that could hardly stand up on stage, let alone play.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am
Brian in UK:

Crispian once said he would be bigger than Elvis. He just never ate enough burgers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am
Guido from Cologne:

... i deny the legend that you have to be young to rock!
Quite a fewof the re-incarnated indie bands from the recend years prove the oposite.
Some are even better! but what they have in commen they do not bother with professionalism in musicanship.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am
Fran:

I'm not getting into this TV stream - Bill has to go soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53am
