Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13am left:

g'morning everyone. Glad to be tuning in live today. I've enjoyed the archived shows over the last few weeks fxo.
Avatar 6:16am fxo:

thanks, left.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18am HarktheUmpire:

Love the Cibo Matto song. Somewhat Deerhoof-inspired, right? Or is that just me?
Avatar 6:20am fxo:

Hark, it might be Cibo's inspiration, then Deerhoof's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24am HarktheUmpire:

Possibly, but I have proof for my theory...
blog.peakness.com...
Avatar 6:26am fxo:

could be...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27am HarktheUmpire:

Seeing as Nels Cline plays guitar on Cibo Matto's Check Out.. anyway, I just thought the chords sounded Deerhoof-y.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32am HarktheUmpire:

And I enjoy typing"Deerhoof-y."
  6:56am P-90:

Excellent song for Neil to cover
  7:07am P-90:

Love that bass
Avatar 7:10am fxo:

you & me both, P.
Avatar 7:26am Philo Gristle:

Hey Frank! Great sounds this morning. Been listening if not typing! Too busy eating and getting ready for work.
Avatar 7:27am fxo:

take human bites... hallo.
Avatar 7:28am kat330:

Present, too! Hallo be thy name, Frank!
  7:36am P-90:

"Oh Man" -voice of bandleader, comic actor, and Jack Benny sidekick Phil Harris, and oh man what a rich, distinctive voice he had
Avatar 7:37am jamesie:

Hello - its me. Yes. I am listening, yes!
Avatar 7:38am jamesie:

Stripping red (yes red) paint off of some second hand 1970's panniers for my old 'sickle
Avatar 7:41am duke:

Hello FXO and everybody
Avatar 7:41am fxo:

Phil Harris! of course, P-90.
hello to kat & Jamesie, as well.
Avatar 7:43am kat330:

@fxo: Did I hear you ask at your first mic break who originally sang "Getting to Know You"? If so, I suppose it was Gertrude Lawrence.
Avatar 7:44am adrian in mpls:

Good morning and hello! Loving the show. Doing my monday morning thing -- making hard boiled eggs and trying to convince myself to get ready for work
  7:46am P-90:

"Getting to Know You" from "King and I"?
Avatar 7:46am fxo:

I forgot about NRBQ. Good catch kat! Gertrude Lawrence indeed.

Morning adrian.
Avatar 7:46am kat330:

That be the one.
Avatar 7:48am kat330:

Somehow I'd thought it was Mary Martin, so I'm glad I checked Wiki.
  7:50am marmalade kitty:

G'mornin fxo! Have you heard the skeewiff vs kpm mashups?
  7:50am John Dwyer:

Good morning Frank--
  7:53am P-90:

Mary Martin would be a good general guess; it was in her ball park. I don't know if she was still doing South Pacific when King and I started its run, it was certainly her heyday
Avatar 7:53am fxo:

DWYER!

hey, MK, while we're at it...
Avatar 7:54am kat330:

Yep, she was the Sutton Foster of the 50s.
Avatar 7:54am mauri:

uuiiuuiiuu!
Avatar 7:58am kat330:

Speaking of laughing moments in Jurassic Park: I was always perturbed how inappropriate it was when Sam Neill -- in the midst of great mortal peril no less -- pranks his kids at the electrified fence. So inauthentic it really jarred me out of the moment and the film.
  7:58am P-90:

THANKS! I was waiting for that one for a couple of weeks. Sheer genius, really inspired, hahaharawwaha!
Avatar 8:04am kat330:

That simile is not very edifying to me. Plastic bag as in it's often blown up into a treetop?
  8:05am marmalade kitty:

suffocating
Avatar 8:06am kat330:

@MK: Ahh, right. Kiitos, Kitty! I can only think in paper bag terms.
  8:06am P-90:

capable of transporting ice cream without dripping?
Avatar 8:06am 3d-nyc:

A little late, but Good morning Frank, good morning all,
Avatar 8:09am kat330:

@P-90: And preferred for Chinese takeout as well.
Avatar 8:13am fxo:

"bagism"?

mornin' 3d.
  8:15am P-90:

"Bilbo Bagism", actually
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am common:

good morning frank, everyone!
  8:16am marmalade kitty:

bagism! hilarious lol
Avatar 8:17am fxo:

token Tolkien?

hey, common...
  8:18am marmalade kitty:

an arty joke taken far too seriously
  8:18am lying flotus:

v nice track from plaid... haven't listened to new album yet, but cant wait now!!!
Avatar 8:18am kat330:

The Bag-avad Gita.
  8:18am nobunny these days:

...oh (man)...paws to reflect Phil was the Jungle Book bear?...
  8:19am P-90:

"Bilbo Bagism": a slang term in Middle Earth for the sexual climax of a Hobbit.
Avatar 8:20am fxo:

too early for me for thinkin'. But, I try...

nobunny, cool reference.
Avatar 8:20am kat330:

Don't mince words, Dave V R!
  8:21am P-90:

Ballo the Bear, an Indian bear in an English novel who mysteriously speaks like a jive-talking jazz-scatting hipster from the American South
Avatar 8:22am kat330:

Reminds me of a bookmark I've kept over the years: "You're no bunny 'til some bunny loves you." Ain't that the truth.
Avatar 8:23am fxo:

some primo Prima. as well?
  8:24am P-90:

Prima was primo every time, everything he ever did, in my book...
Avatar 8:25am kat330:

Great fun, great music! Off the board now and onto the tramp, etc. Thanks, fxo! Later.
  8:27am P-90:

My sympathies to the tramp
  8:29am P-90:

Why do I feel so certain that George woulda really dug this?
Avatar 8:33am duke:

Great Beatles mashups
  8:37am nobunny these days:

...maybe: our George could be a little 'persnickety' (he reportedly rejected being sampled)
...Beatle screams - the great jet engine whine of the 60's; a cameraman on Hard Day's Night claimed it loosened one of his teeth...
Avatar 8:39am fxo:

don't tell George. His teeth were fixed.

hey, duke.
  8:48am P-90:

catchy tune
Avatar 8:51am fxo:

We're coming to the end of this webcast. Thanks for the kind comments. I'll be back, next Monday, same time zone. Have a groovy week.
Peace.
  8:58am P-90:

Thanks DJ fxo for another fine Filmways Presentation! Special thanks for Jeff Goldblum!
Have a great week!
