coincidentally i've been shopping for rechargeable batteries for the last 2 hours. i'd already thought "eneloop" was the best (by far) but didn't know there were so many options.

Sounds like you're a little OCD like me. I like to buy different brands. Helps keep them a little more organized. Also, you may already have one, but a battery tester is super helpful with rechargeables. You can test them after charging to see how well they're holding up.

"eneloop" brand. Now owned by panasonic. I've had 8 for 6-7 years,charging the whole time with the wrong kind of charger,& they show no signs of weakening.
Vivitar & ray o vac SUCK. duracel are just okay.
