Hi, Kurt and people! (not to suggest you aren't a person, Kurt)

Speaking of missing, I came on to specifically click a track I don't see in the playlist.

The wonderful piece between Younghearts and Sciarrino -- Sun Ra?
Avatar 3:26pm
Lewis:

Ok - this is cool in a weird sort of way. It also makes me want to hear Garland Hirschi's' cows
Avatar 3:27pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

no - it was the prologue for the sciarrino piece!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm
Mike East:

loving this!
Avatar 3:27pm
kat330:

Ahhh, OK, cool, except there's no clickin' star for that piece, heh!
Avatar 3:28pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

well, it's the prologue and first scene of one long piece. still counts as a click, i'd think.
Avatar 3:29pm
kat330:

Nevermind...it's fixed.

I was in the kitchen pressing a dozen limes and while the Sciarrino was emitting bird sounds, there was a hawk in our backyard emitting very similar sounds.
Avatar 3:31pm
kat330:

I still think I'm mixed up on tracks. It was an extended *jazz* piece I'm talking about. And I thought I heard you say something about Sun Ra... or I'm just being birdbrained.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Good afternoon, Kurt and fellow crime-fighters.
Avatar 3:31pm
adrian in mpls:

someone came into my office during the bird sounds....they were very confused
Avatar 3:32pm
adrian in mpls:

@kat330 - bryce played some sun ra - maybe it was that?
Avatar 3:33pm
kat330:

Ohh, so his show really did extend over? But no, I heard the Younghearts before the track of which I speak, so maybe I heard back announcing on that, but the Younghearts wasn't played before and after Bryce left, right?
Avatar 3:34pm
kat330:

I do quite like this, too. Sort of klezmer.
Avatar 3:35pm
dk:

today's theme: recursion.
Avatar 3:36pm
βrian:

So was that strictly sampled? Or performed live. Sounded like violin and clarinet but very hard to be certain.
Avatar 3:36pm
steve:

you can't understand recursion without recursion
Avatar 3:36pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

narayana's cows, brian? all multi-tracked saxophones.
Avatar 3:37pm
βrian:

Thanks. What fun!
Avatar 3:40pm
kat330:

I guess the only way I'll stop my curiosity and get to the bottom of this doggone mystery is to hear the archive later.
Avatar 3:41pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

kat, i'm not sure what you heard but there was nothing particularly jazzy after the younghearts. there was before, tho. maybe your stream hiccupped?
Avatar 3:41pm
dk:

thanks to this program, my computer is now beating its brains out inefficiently computing the difference in growth rates between the fibonacci sequence and narayana's cows.
Avatar 3:42pm

@Kurt: Miguel. As good an explanation as any. Had some pulsing stream outages yesterday.

Avatar 3:50pm

Avatar 3:50pm

Almost an hour without any commentary... Maybe Kurt was in fact abducted?
Avatar 3:52pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

  3:53pm

no, John Waters' voice was heard just before (or was it just after?) the Younghearts
Avatar 3:55pm
kat330:

Très drôle, Quebec personne.
  3:59pm
P-90:

OK, I was away for a while. So I missed a John Waters spoken word thing and a "secret" Sun Ra track? And there's a math assignment about cows? Oh, and is Scott still pretending to be Kurt?
