It's a bummer about Ian McLagan, but if there's an afterlife, he's likely smiling at all the FMU DJ's doing great tributes to him. Evan Funk Davies's last night was lovely. So good to hear such a good corner of rock-n-roll's output.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this NWA song quite a bit lately. Good our "free speech" nation at least "allows" this to air over the Internet.

I was just talking to a very good friend of mine (an immigrant from Honduras) about such shit (NY & Ferguson) this morning; He works 6 12 hour days a week at a Chinese Food Joint for peanuts....; He loves alot of spanish guitar players and the like; He came to visit me Tues. & I educated him slightly by playing Sam Cooke's "Change Is Gonna Come" at a good volume. He cried and said it was the most beautiful music he ever heead (In his own words); Just figured I might be able to share that with you.

Re: Marianne Faithfull. This version is okay -- the worn pressing doesn't help -- but the Ronettes original rules. Ronnie still does the song in her live show sometimes.
