@ MD -- YES! i remember seeing that as it happened (i think i had just seen them at the Palladium too) -- TOTAL chaos and silliness and joy, IMHO :)
on the other hand, only recent stumbled upon this equally brilliant clip of The Slits on Belgian TV -- also from 1980 -- and check out that line-up! in addition to The Slits, The Pop Group, Prince, and Foreigner were also guests on the show!

I remember that SNL with the Kinks well. Nobody young knew about them over in the US (that I knew) and I learned to love them in Australia. I was so happy to see them.

The Boylan Brewing Co. in Paterson, NJ makes a terrific Birch Beer, and a Creamy Red Birch Beer. All their beverages are good, in moderation. All are made with cane sugar.

When we make coffee here it is usually fairly strong because we have a large grinder. We had a co-op student who made coffee once and she said she didn't know how much coffee to put in but figured because it was strong it was 2 grinders worth. That was strong coffee.

I'm in Albuquerque. I work with our museum collections, but the a & l is down the hall, and they have the full set up - coffee maker, fridge, accoutrements. Instead of the usual crap folgers or cheapo coffee brand, I bring in some green mountain coffee grounds to mix it up now and again.
