She plays this on my gums. Once I requested Beethoven's Emperor Concerto. She declined, but offered to perform a series of Cabaret Voltaire B-sides.

Whammy Bartok -- on now -- is a Smegma offshoot (w/ Mike Lastra).
Avatar 12:34pm
βrian:

"A smegma offshoot" might be a problematic phrase in other contexts...
Avatar 12:35pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, βrian!

Better than "a Smegma discharge," at least....
Avatar 12:37pm
V Priceless:

just heard the unfortunate news that Chris Squire has Leukemia
  12:41pm

Sad news about Squire. Pete Townshend's birthday today.
Avatar 12:44pm
V Priceless:

wow - that's cool. Seeing them tomorrow, actually. Nostalgia got the best of me...plus, can't pass up another chance to see Townsend thrash about the place.

They sounded a bit like Cafe Jacques, oddly.
Avatar 1:12pm
Tony Coulter:

Thanks, James! Here's more BG for you!

Haven't yet sampled Cafe Jacques -- been meaning too. I hear they make a mean scone.
Avatar 1:26pm

The Reverend Toad Eater = Richard "Midnight Hatsize" Snyder of Magic Band (and Decayes and Child Molesters) fame. I guess with these lyrics he needed a pseudonym.
  1:27pm
Dean:

He's in a band called Child Molesters, but he needs a pseudonym for these lyrics?

Boyd Rice has clearly been to Disneyland. The parking alone is a thrill ride.

I heard him as Non at a Polynesian restaurant in LA a long time ago. Heckuva show.
Avatar 1:40pm

Sounds like a Tea Party theme ...
  1:41pm

Boyd Rice owned a Tiki bar in Denver, I believe. He's duty bound to like Disneyland.

I've never actually heard any Orff aside from The Orff Piece, to my knowledge, so this is entertaining and educational.
  2:03pm
Dean:

By TOP, ljfw, you mean Carmina Burana? That it's overplayed, overused in film, deprives us of his nicer stuff. I thought there were recordings by Rene Clemencic (whose ensemble has made wonderful recordings based on the *real* Carmina Burana) of some of Orff's pedagogical stuff for kids, but I can't find them.

"Who's your favorite composer?," the interviewer asked the seal.

Great show today, Tony! It's getting me through a hard day. Thanks!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:07pm

@Dean: I do indeed. Weird that it gets used so much considering there's this comparatively non–Sturm und Drang spot in the middle.

Hey there, Susan!! Glad I'm helping!

Yes, @ljfw, the section that doesn't sell automobiles.
