When I looked through the hundreds of 101 LPs (which now that I think about it, might be a low estimate), it was in a warehouse of records, where 101 Strings LPs had their own entire section in an aisle, 3 or 4 rows on metal shelves. That was around 12 years ago now. I still haven't seen an Astro-Sounds 'in the wild'.
Avatar 12:26pm
DDDJJJ666:

I think maybe only 101 were ever made.

I would like to think some grand parents heard this, too, and were also dispirited.
  12:30pm

Wait, is this leading up to Honegger's "Pacific 231"? Or must the number be in the artist's name?
Avatar 12:31pm

This was what Honegger intended.

I recently bought an LP of questionable legitimacy and it included that 101 Strings Flameout song, as well as Louis Armstrong doing Pharaoh Sanders The Creator Has A Master Plan.
I too am continually bummed that I have yet to see Astro-Sounds in the wild and that all the other various sundry 101-Strings LPs taunt me.

someone should do an all strings cover album of pre-Clash Joe Strummer songs and call it 101'ers Strings.
